Every year, we sit down to write Firefly International’s annual review, and every year it’s a reminder of why this work matters.
This year’s edition brings together voices from across our partners’ programmes: Svitac in Bosnia, Wings of Hope in Bethlehem, Ahfad Al Zaytoun in Cairo, and our partners in Gaza. It’s not a list of numbers. It’s a snapshot of what’s possible when children affected by conflict are given space to create, learn, and imagine a different future.
Behind every page is a partner organisation working in extraordinarily difficult circumstances, and a community of supporters who make that work possible. This review is our chance to show you where your support went this year: the concerts, the classrooms, the small moments of normality that arts and education programmes can offer children whose lives have been upended by conflict.
It’s also a reason to keep going. To keep supporting our partners and the communities they work with. And, inspired by the children themselves, to hold on to hope.
