Help Firefly support Gazan child medical evacuees in Cairo
March 11, 2026
At Firefly International, our mission has always been clear: to support children affected by war to heal, learn, and rebuild their futures.
Last year, we were proud to be able to support Ahfad Al Zaytoun (AAZ), an extraordinary grassroots organisation working in Cairo with Gazan child medical evacuees.
Many of these children arrive in Egypt alone. While their urgent medical needs may be treated, they are often left without schooling, structure, or meaningful support. Far from home and separated from family, they risk becoming invisible.
AAZ refuses to let that happen. Watch this video from founder, Israa, on the impact of your support.
AAZ provides safe transport to their centre, offering children a structured, nurturing environment filled with learning, creativity, and fun-filled activities – all designed to give them back their childhoods. Through Palestinian food, folklore, and music, children remain connected to their identity and culture. Most importantly, they find a second family: dedicated staff and volunteers who care deeply about their wellbeing, their education, and their futures.
Firefly is committed to helping AAZ grow and sustain this life-changing work – but we need your support.
Even in uncertain times, amazing organisations like AAZ are giving children a chance to heal, learn, and dream again – and we all have the power to help.
