Join Fireflies for Peace: A Global Music Project for Children
September 11, 2025Firefly International is inviting children, schools, and choirs across Scotland to take part in Fireflies for Peace – an inspiring international music and peace project.
This unique initiative connects young people in Scotland with their peers in Bosnia through the universal language of song. At our upcoming free event participants will:
- – Learn and perform the uplifting track Fireflies by Owl City
- – Take part in a peace education workshop exploring empathy, kindness, and what peace means to them
- – Contribute to a professionally produced music video that brings together children’s voices from across borders

Date: Saturday 1st November
Time: 10:30-15:00
Venue: St Cecilia’s Hall, Edinburgh EH1 1LG
Who: Children aged 8–14
Who can get involved?
- Community choirs and families – Children can join our upcoming workshop day in Edinburgh.
- School choirs and classes – Teachers can register their groups to learn and record the song independently, using our resource pack.
- Supporters and sponsors – Partners are welcome to help grow the project to more schools and cities in the future.
