Art exhibition – display work by local artists then hold a charity auction of the exhibits.

Auction of promises – get your friends together for a party and auction of promises, such as a cooking a meal or washing cars.

Ask – ask friends and family to donate or to sponsor you with a run or event – remember – if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

Ball – hold a charity ball, charge guests for tickets and hold a raffle to raise more funds on the night.

Barbecue – a fantastic opportunity to celebrate summer and raise money at the same time.

Blind Date – organise blind dates for friends and get everyone who takes part to donate a set amount. Team up with another group so that everyone doesn't already know each other! Following the date, organise a party for everyone who took part.

Book sale – clear out unwanted books and hold a book sale.

Buffet lunch – hold a charity lunch at work.

Bring & buy sale – never mind E-Bay, get friends to donate items for a sale to raise funds.

Breakfast party – guests can each bring a dish to a breakfast party and make a donation at the same time.

Bungee jump – go on, you know you want to!

Beard shave  –  shave your beard off for a good cause! You never know what you might find in it!

Coffee morning – provide coffee & biscuits & cake…charge an entry fee and donate the proceeds.

Cricket match – take advantage of the sun and hold charity matches at your local park.

Car wash – offer to wash your neighbour’s cars for donations.

Carol concert – ask your local church to support your charity this Christmas.

Crazy golf match – take a trip to your nearest crazy golf course for a tournament with friends.

Cheese & wine party – charge a small entry fee.

Concert – organise a concert in your garden.

Champagne lunch – each guest brings a bottle of cheap bubbly and some food and makes a small donation.

Curry party – have a curry making competition and charge an entrance fee.

Car boot sale – donate all money raised when you have a major clear out!

Darts competition – organise a match in your local pub.

Disco – ask your local school to host a disco night.

Dance – Get sponsored to dance non-stop for your favourite cause.

Dress down day – ask colleagues to donate £1 to dress down for a day.

Dinner for friends – cook up a feast for your friends and ask them to donate something in return.

Dog Walking – walk dogs for charity.

Egg & spoon race – relive your school days and raise money.

Extreme ironing – have a (safe) race to see who can iron the most shirts in under an hour!

Easter Egg Hunt hide eggs all around the garden or park, and charge an entry fee.

Fashion show – have friends model and swap clothes.

Fete – get a group of friends to help you organise this one.

Face painting – organise a day of face painting for all the children in your social group.

Football match – you might find the next Wayne Rooney!

Fish & chip evening – charge your friends to have fish and chips at your house.

Film show – have a theme night! How about 70’s, 80’s or Marilyn Monroe/James Dean?

Fancy dress party – charge an entry fee and hold a raffle to raise extra funds, and don’t forget the prize for best outfit!

Garage sale – what better excuse to get rid of your clutter?

Games night – ask friends to bring round favourite old board games and ask for donations to play.

Guess the weight competition – for a jar of sweets or anything you can think of!

Give up something for a month – chocolate or coffee? – and donate all you would spend on it.

Guess your weight (or the weight of a cake/number of sweets in a jar) competition – £2 a guess!

Gift Aid – let your chosen charity reclaim basic rate tax on your donation; this increases its value by almost a third.

Halloween party – charge your friends to dress up at your next Halloween party

Head shave, sponsored – if David Seaman can lose the ponytail in the name of charity, you can lose your hair!

Hat party – another excuse to throw a fun party and charge your friends to dress up.

Hula–hoop contest – relive those childhood years and bet with your friends on the number of spins you can achieve – £1 a spin.

How many sweets in a jar? – charge people £1 a guess and the winner gets the sweets!

Ice skating party – organise a party after a skating session and sell tickets.

Jumble sale – sell all your junk for BAAF.

Karaoke night – ask your local pub to host a charity karaoke night, and donÕt forget those collecting tins!

Look–a–like day – hold a famous person or work colleague look–a–like competition, and charge £1 a guess.

Lunch party – have your guests make a dish each and sell portions of food.

Left–handed day – charge friends £2 to use their left hand for the day or the evening and fine them 50p each time they slip up!

Make–up demonstration – get your friends pay you to make them up and make an evening of it!

Marathon – run in one of the many marathons going on around the country, go to our calendar of sporting events.

Midsummer ball – organise a fun night out.

Masked ball – organise a charity ball and have guests pay to guess whoÕs who!

Name the baby photograph – donate £1–a–guess at your place of work.

Nut cracking competition – bring out your inner Tarzan – get your friends to sponsor you nut for nut!

Poetry reading – get your local pub or community centre to let you host a ticketed poetry reading event.

Quiz night – organise one in a pub, club, bar or even at home, and charge an entry fee per person.

Sponsored silence – pay someone not to talk for a whole day or do it yourself.

Talent contest – bring out your inner diva and host a charity talent contest at your local pub or community centre.

Toy fair – part with the old toys cluttering up your attic or shed and donate all proceeds.

Three legged race/tug–o–war – hold a charity sports day in your back garden and get friends who participate to donate something.

Talk–a–thon – get sponsored to take part in a talk–a–thon session with your best mates, see who can talk the longest!

Unwanted gift sale – the perfect opportunity to get rid of any unwanted Christmas presents and donate all the proceeds!
